Privacy Policy
Dog Dooty Tracker (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is operated by Dog Dooty. This policy explains how information is handled when you use our mobile apps (iOS and Android).
Summary
Dog Dooty Tracker is local by default. You can use the app without an account — tap Continue and your dog data stays on your device. If you choose Family Pack sync on iOS, selected activity is stored in our cloud service for up to 7 days so your household can share a feed.
Information stored on your device
The following data is stored locally on your phone or tablet:
- Dog profiles (names, ages, and photos you add)
- Bathroom and activity logs with timestamps
- Notification preferences (reminder timing, quiet hours, and similar settings)
- Guest user profile data when you use the app without signing in
In solo mode, this data remains on your device unless you delete it or uninstall the app. We do not receive copies of solo-mode dog data on our servers.
Family Pack sync (optional, iOS)
If you start or join a pack, the app creates an anonymous account and may store:
- Your display name in the pack
- Pack dog names and reminder intervals (set by the Pack Leader)
- Activity logs (bathroom, walks, meals, etc.) and a small photo snapshot with each log
- Push notification tokens so pack mates can receive activity alerts
- Anonymous usage counts (no dog names or log content) — enabled by default for pack members; you can turn this off anytime under “Share anonymous usage stats” in Profile
Pack activity is retained for 7 days on our servers, then automatically deleted. Dog profile photos on your device are not uploaded as profile images — only a snapshot may attach to a log you record.
Device permissions
The app may request the following permissions:
- Camera and photo library — so you can take or choose photos of your dogs. Profile photos are stored on your device; pack log snapshots may be uploaded only when you log in a connected pack.
- Notifications — for local overdue reminders and, in a pack, push alerts when a pack mate logs activity.
Advertising
The iOS and Android apps display banner advertisements through Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect device and advertising-related information to serve and measure ads, consistent with their policies. We do not sell your personal information.

The web version at dogdooty.app/app does not display AdMob advertisements.
Sharing features
When you use the share feature, your device’s standard share sheet sends content you choose to apps you select (such as Messages or email). We do not control how those services handle shared content.
Children
Dog Dooty Tracker is a household utility app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data security
You are responsible for securing your device. Pack sync data is transmitted over HTTPS and retained for 7 days on our servers. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data removes local information unless your device backup includes it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
